Once upon a time, I fell in love with vintage fireplaces. I love the look of the 60’s-70’s era firehood or malm style fireplace. But working within my budget, none of those were really an option. During a late night facebook marketplace search, I found an old firehood that was beckoning for some new life. I drug my husband, got in our SUV and headed about 1 hour away to pick this rusty, old beauty up. Once we got her home, she needed a lot of work. I worked on sanding her down and cleaning her up. We knew we wanted a statement color, so we went with a bright reddish-orange high heat paint. I painted it and freshed up the inside and she was ready to take center stage in our backyard.
