Bookshelf

As I moved into my dated seventies home, there were many things to tackle.  One of the first small projects was to update this sad bookshelf in their family room.  Unable to use new material, we had to work with what we had.  I proposed to paint it black as it would contrast with the grey walls and make her wood accents pop. She was onboard.  It does always hurt my soul a bit to paint wood black, sometimes it can be exactly what you need.  In a quick weekend project, I painted it black and simply replaced the pulls with contrasting leather pulls to tie everything together.  The client loved the way this project turned out.
